If you are planning on getting an epidural or have other medical interventions doesn’t mean that a doula can’t support you. In fact, many high-risk pregnancies and as well as planned medicated births can benefit from including a doula in the process. Your doula will not judge you for any decisions you make for your birth plan or during the delivery. What your doula will do it make sure you have all of the information to make informed decisions and support your personal choices.

Having a baby at a hospital does not mean that you have to feel like you are in a cold, antiseptic-smelling space. Your doula will provide you with a variety of options to create an environment that is soothing and relaxing. Some of the things your doula may do to create a relaxing environment will be to offer essential oils for aromatherapy, play soothing music and offer ambient lighting. The environment really matters!
Labor Tubs in Hospitals
Orchid Nest has a great relationship with Boca Raton Regional Hospital, Good Samaritan Hospital and St. Mary’s Medical Center which are located in South Florida and all allow labor tubs in their labor and delivery suites. Warm water has been shown to ease pain and relax laboring muscles in addition to many other benefits.
